To provide you a quotation for Insul-Vest Purge-Aways™, we need just a few dimensions plus your company information and the machine identification. To request a quote for an individual Purge-Away, you can complete and submit the Barrel Measurement Form on line by selecting it in the menu or at the bottom of this page. Please complete a separate Form for each machine.

If you will be requesting Purge-Aways™ for more than a few machines, you can download the Purge-Away™ Measurement Sheet from the Purge-Away™ Downloads Section. You can then fill it out and email it to us or print it out, complete it and fax it to us.

How to Measure for Insul-Vest Purge-Aways™

CAUTION: To avoid potential injury, it is recommended that the power supply to the machine be locked out and the barrel allowed to fully cool down before measurements are taken.

In order to design your Insul-Vest Purge-Aways™, we need two basic dimensions, 1) the barrel circumference over the heaters and insulating blankets 2) the diameter of the nozzle or adaptor to which the leading edge of the Purge-Away is to seal.

1. Measure the Circumference of the barrel to the nearest 1/4” (5 mm) using a measuring tape. Be sure to measure OVER the heater and insulating blanket* to get the maximum dimension the Purge-Away must fit over.

2. Measure the nozzle or nozzle adaptor diameter to the nearest 1/10” (2 mm). While the front opening of the Purge-Away is spring-loaded to seal against the nozzle, it is important to have an accurate diameter to minimize the chance of plastic penetrating the cover.

NOTE: Standard Purge-Aways™ are designed for use over Insul-Vest insulating blankets and are not designed for direct exposure to barrel heaters. If you wish to use Purge-Aways™ without insulating blankets, we can custom design insulated Purge-Aways™. Please specify insulated Purge-Aways™ when requesting your quotation.

NOTE: Standard Purge-Aways™ are about 13” (325 mm) long. The ‘skirt’ can be made longer to order. If you need a specific length, please specify on your request for quotation.
